Baby Update

On Monday we had good news.  The maternal-fetal medicine Doc said Baby Pirate looks good and he thinks that he is much bigger than what was estimated the week before.  Monday's ultrasound estimated 6 lb 9 oz!  So back to my regular Doc afterwards and then again today.  Why my Doc still writes SGA everywhere IDK?  Plan is to have a c-section on Monday.  Never thought I would need one of those.  I don't really want to be cut open.  I never liked to watch that part when I went to deliveries at work.  Too gruesome!  I also was hoping to start back running sooner than you can post c-section.  The only plus to a c-section (that I can think of)  is the lack of labor and maybe my makeup and hair will still look good since I won't have to sweat. I guess it has to be done...oh well.  Please continue to pray for Little Guy.

Bad Blogger

Okay.  So I am terrible at blogging.  Oh well.  I guess it takes bed rest to get me to update this thing.  I cannot believe how long it has been since I updated this.

Update on Pirate Baby:

Pirate Baby is IUGR!  I can't believe my baby is IUGR!!!  I have written so many papers on it.  I never thought it would happen to me!  He was growing and chillin' just fine until 32 weeks and they noticed my belly was measuring small so an ultrasound was done as he was in the 23rd percentile.  Then, at 36 weeks the 11th percentile!  Now, at about 38 weeks he is in the 5th!!!  So bed rest it is.  Not real sure why he is not growing to the curve.  I am growing.  That is for sure.  The thought is that the placenta and/or cord is not functioning correctly. Will find out Monday.  Since he has not "dropped"  he can't be induced very easily so we are waiting for next week.  Just in case I am scheduled on Tuesday for a possible induction/c-section.  This is going to be one boring weekend.  Pirate Papa has to work all day Saturday and all day and night Sunday until Monday afternoon.  So he will miss my appt on Monday and be way too tired if something happens Monday! He bought me a couple books and a magazine.  So that may keep me busy...

Please pray for Pirate Baby.

Baby Baptism

So we had a busy weekend.  Saturday we went to assist with the baptism of our newest neice.  It was the first Catholic baptism we have ever attended.  Below are the proud parents.  On Sunday afternoon we had an open house.  Twenty-five groups of people came!  Half of those were other realtors and nosy neighbors!  Oh well!!!  A few poeple are coming this week to look at the house.  So we are trying hard to keep it tidy.

Our neice's baptism.

20 weeks
I did not know Dac was taking a picture.  I would have stood up straighter.

Putting the baby's baptismal gown on...

Isn't she beautiful? Just a little upset...

Very upset.
So this weekend I am leaving Pirate Papa behind and going to see my grandparents.  The paparazzi will be there (Bonnie-Kait) so I am sure I will have more pictures to post.  The Baby Boy is fine as far as I know.  I can feel some kicks and movements every now and then.

Exciting News!

So we have had a lot going on this week... On Monday we put our house on the market. If you know someone who needs a house in the Lexington area check LBAR.com. Today we had a 20 week ultrasound to find out how the pirate baby is doing in there. He is fine!!! It's a boy!!! This will be interesting. I am pretty used to little girls with five younger sisters and three nieces. I am going to try to post his pictures. Pirate Mama and Pirate Papa are excited!!!

Intro and Help needed

I am starting a blog at the request of my sisters. To explain the name: My husband and I are Pirates, ECU Pirates that is! We are currently located in Kentucky. Our home state is Eastern NC (where we met). Soon (July 2011) we will be relocating to Rhode Island. Thus the name of our blog. Our plan is to use this blog to keep use connected to our families and friends as we travel, once again, to a new state

I am a little bit technically challenged. So any hints or tips to make this blog better would be greatly appreciated. I am also grammatically challenged. So please correct my grammar and punctuation. I will try to post pictures. I guess I need to start taking some.
